Do you kitesurf or wingsurf and are you looking for your next trip?
Brazil… it’s clearly a spot not to be missed.

In Icaraizinho, everything can be summed up in one word: diversity. Between the high tide waves, the flat lagoon of Patos and the safe spot of La Pointe, everyone finds their playground.
With 7 spots suitable from beginner to expert, consistent winds 8 months a year and an exceptional setting, it is an unmissable destination.
This fishing village in northeastern Brazil is now a world-renowned spot, prized by many pro riders.
In this guide, discover the best kitesurfing spots in Icaraizinho and its surroundings.

1-
Icaraizinho Bay - Center
This is a spot exclusively dedicated to wingfoiling.
It is also our main base for courses and equipment rental.
Protected from the swell, it offers calm water conditions, especially at low tide, ideal for learning and progressing in complete serenity.
Located right in the heart of the village, the spot is ultra comfortable, with many bars and restaurants accessible directly from the water.

2-
Icaraizinho Bay - North
North of Icaraizinho Bay, you will find several kite schools with everything you need to get comfortable: compressor, shower, restaurant, bar…
This is the recommended kite & wing spot if you are staying in Icaraizinho.
At low tide, the body of water becomes relatively flat with a slight chop, ideal for making progress.
At high tide, make way for the waves: perfect for strapless riding, wing foiling, or for sending a few jumps in kiteboarding.
3-
The Point
La Pointe is clearly THE spot.
Smaller than Icaraizinho Bay, it offers perfect wind conditions, with a regular and stable wind.
At low tide, this is where the water is flattest, the ideal spot for lessons, whether starting out or progressing.
All the conditions are in place to ride and progress at a relaxed pace.
The spot is accessible only by buggy or 4x4 via the beach.
If you would like to go, we can take you there for a session and advise you on the best time depending on your level.

4-
Patos Lagoon
Much more than a spot… a real adventure.
Patos Lagoon is accessible by buggy along the beach, then by boat to cross a small river, the Rio Aracatiacu.
After about 30 minutes of travel, you arrive at Seu João's small cabin, located directly on the edge of the lagoon — the only one there, with food and refreshments available.
Accessible only at high tide, the lagoon fills and empties with the rhythm of the tides, offering perfect conditions.
An ultra-flat body of water, with shallow areas ideal for learning, and deeper ones for those who want to send it and gain height.
5-
Caetanos
Caetanos is a small fishing village about 15 km south of Icarai de Amontada.
There are two options to get there: by your own means (by car) by taking the road, or if you wish to discover the beach, it is also possible to rent a buggy which will take you to the spot.
Once you arrive you can settle into one of 4 or 5 small fisherman's huts including the "Barraca do Bento".
As for riding, the spot is really cool at low tide, and especially on the outgoing tide. The wind is clean and consistent, and you can ride right in front of the huts.

6-
Icaraizinho Bay - South
Upwind of the bay of Icaraizinho de Amontada there is also a nice spot, probably one of the places where the wind is the most stable in the village.
However, the seabed is quite rocky: this spot only works at high tide. Be careful of the outgoing tide so you don't get caught out…
You're also riding upwind of the bay and past several boats often moored in the area. In case of trouble, this increases the risk of colliding with another boat… or even ending up in the wind shadow.
This spot is therefore reserved for more experienced riders.
There is no infrastructure or kiteboarding school on site.
7-
The Curral
This spot remains fairly unknown… and for good reason: it doesn’t work that often.
However, from mid-season onwards, when the swell starts to pick up, it can deliver some great waves for strapless, wing, and even surfing enthusiasts.
The spot is located between two currais de pesca (traditional fish traps) and over a rocky reef — this setup is precisely what allows the wave to form.
This makes it a technical spot, suited for experienced riders only.
